This CAN Connect Forum focuses on navigating return-to-work policies, accommodations, and flexible work arrangements for employees with disabilities. Attend to learn about policy inconsistencies, the duty to accommodate and the legal considerations surrounding workplace accommodations. Gain insights into how you can create a more supportive and compliant work environment, ensuring all employees have the flexibility and support they need to succeed in their role.

- Lucille Berlinguette-Saumure: Lucille is an accessibility professional with over 20 years of experience. She devoted 33 years of service to the City of Ottawa, and from 2008 to 2024, she led the city’s implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. Lucille is a Director at Accessibility Standards Canada, a business owner, and serves on many committees, sharing her expertise and lived experience, to help build a more inclusive city, province, country, and world.

- Erin Murray, Environment and Climate Change Canada: Erin is a Policy Advisor at Environment and Climate Change Canada and a member of the Federal Forum of speakers with Lived Experience. She shares her lived experience with mental illness and neurodiversity to promote dialogue on mental wellness and inclusivity in the workplace. She hopes that sharing her story and tools that have helped her can inspire change and create a more psychologically safe workplace.
- Pina D’Intino, Aequum Global Access Inc. : Pina is a sought-out consultant and speaker that actively promotes accessibility and inclusion from both an executive and grassroots perspective. She has more than 29 years of experience in a large global financial institution, and for the last 15 years has pioneered and founded a cross-institutional hub for accessibility and inclusion. Pina also has extensive experience in developing and facilitating education and training opportunities. In 2013, Pina received the QE2 Diamond Jubilee medal by Canada’s Lt. Governor the Honourable David Onley for her work in accessible employment. Pina completed the Inclusive Design Program at OCADU and developed a course for Mohawk College on accessible organizational frameworks. Pina is also the Co-Lead of the CAN Education and Training Community of Practice.
- Maureen Haan, Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW): Maureen has been very active in the cross-disability sector, currently focusing on employment issues. She has been involved with numerous committees and groups that increase awareness of the access to the disability sector and the Deaf community, including involvement with Civil Society on the UN Convention of Rights for Persons with Disabilities (CRPS) as the lead for employment for persons with disabilities. Maureen was appointed to the COVID-19 Disability Advisory Group (CDAG) during the COVID-19 pandemic and remains on the Minister Disability Advisory Group (MDAG). Maureen is an active member of CAN’s Governing Council and became involved with CAN because she recognized the importance of having community at the table when creating networks.
